At Pinecones Nursery School, each child is given the opportunity to explore their environment inside and out throughout the year, whilst being supported by skilled staff to extend their play. Every child is unique and we believe it is essential to get into the child's world in order to get to know them and successfully support them in their development. If we notice something your child is finding challenging, we will focus on supporting them in order to give them the best chance at succeeding.
We have a qualified Forest school leader, we support all children including the youngest to take risks without being put at risk. Children thrive in our child-led outdoor environment, growing vegetables, planting flowers, digging, bug hunting and den building!
We have also been developing our vegetable patch with food we are hoping to use in our cooking sessions.
We pride ourselves in taking time to get to know families and involving them in all aspects of your child's time at nursery; overcoming challenges, celebrating achievements and growing together. Our environment is an extension of home and fully child focused.
You will see updates about your child's play through Learning Journals and we encourage families to share experiences from home.
We accept all the current funding offered for children over 9months. We offer the option to use funding term time only and to spread the funding all year around to suit your family's needs.
We are a small close knit team.
All our staff are highly dedicated and qualifications range from Level 3 apprentice staff right up to qualified teachers.
All of our team are constantly developing themselves. They all receive regular supervision sessions. Recent staff development has been about developing our Makaton skills and assisting with toilet training. We are now developing the use of peer observations.
All staff receive regular training updates, through formal training, supervision and staff meetings periodically through the year. Safeguarding and related policies are currently being updated (Jan 25)

The more risks you allow children to take, the better they learn to take care of themselves.

You do not have to be perfect to be amazing!
We have a SEND team who support children and families with long and short term needs
These goals have been produced to combine our pedagogy, child development and our local area. All children will have their own learning journey to achieving these goals.
